Refund policy

At All Things Niche, every item is carefully inspected, quality-checked, and securely packaged before dispatch to ensure it reaches you in excellent condition.

Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged, faulty, defective, or is not the item you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. To help us investigate and resolve the issue promptly, we may request photographs of:

  • The item received;

  • Any damage or fault;

  • The product packaging; and

  • The shipping packaging.

Once we have reviewed the information provided, we will work with you to determine an appropriate resolution, which may include a repair, replacement, store credit, or refund where required under applicable New Zealand consumer laws.

Change of Mind

Due to the nature of jewellery and for hygiene, quality assurance, and product integrity reasons, we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind;

  • Incorrect selections made by the customer;

  • Ordering the wrong size, style, colour, or design;

  • Gifts that are not suitable; or

  • Items that are no longer wanted after purchase.

We encourage customers to carefully review all product descriptions, sizing information, photographs, and specifications before placing an order.

Custom, Personalised and Special Order Items

Custom-made, engraved, personalised, altered, or special-order items are made specifically for the purchaser and cannot be cancelled, returned, exchanged, or refunded unless the item is faulty or does not meet applicable consumer guarantees.

Return Conditions

Where a return has been approved, the item must be returned:

  • In its original condition;

  • Unworn and unused;

  • Free from damage caused after delivery;

  • With all original packaging, tags, certificates, and accessories (where applicable).

We reserve the right to decline returns that do not meet these conditions, except where required by law.

Exclusions

This policy does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear;

  • Tarnishing, fading, or deterioration resulting from normal use;

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper storage, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions;

  • Damage caused by exposure to chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics, cleaning products, chlorine, saltwater, or similar substances;

  • Loss or theft after delivery;

  • Damage caused by third-party repairs, modifications, or alterations.

Return Shipping

Where a return is approved due to a fault, damage, or an error on our part, we will advise on the return process and any applicable shipping arrangements.

For any other approved returns, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless required by law.

We recommend using a tracked shipping service when returning items, as we cannot be responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit.

Order Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any order before dispatch where:

  • The product is unavailable;
  • A pricing or listing error has occurred;
  • Fraudulent, suspicious, or unauthorised activity is suspected;
  • Payment cannot be verified; or
  • We are otherwise unable to fulfil the order.

Where an order is cancelled after payment has been received, a full refund will be provided.

Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, refuse transactions, or cancel orders where we reasonably believe a customer has breached these Terms & Conditions, engaged in abusive behaviour, attempted fraud, or otherwise acted unlawfully.

Incorrect Address

If an incorrect delivery address is supplied by the customer and the order has already been dispatched, All Things Niche accepts no responsibility for any resulting loss. Additional shipping charges may apply where redirection or re-delivery is possible.

Unclaimed Parcels

If a parcel is returned to us because it was not collected, accepted, or claimed by the customer, re-shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Sale and Clearance Items

Sale, clearance, promotional, or discounted items may not be eligible for exchange or refund unless required by New Zealand consumer law.

Sizing Disclaimer

Customers are responsible for selecting the correct size when ordering. All Things Niche is not responsible for incorrect sizing selected by the customer.

Assessment of Claims

All claims for refunds, replacements, exchanges, or repairs are assessed individually. We reserve the right to inspect returned items before determining the appropriate remedy.

Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986, or any other applicable New Zealand legislation.
